Brief background & less highlighted issues around Indian Farmers Protest
In the first week of June 2020, 3 new Farm sector laws were implemented by using discretionary emergency powers of Ordinances/Executive Order by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during extremely strict COVID lockdowns in India. Ordinances are valid for just 6 months, so the Farm ordinances were made into law by ramming them through Lok Sabha (lower house) and Rajya Sabha (upper house) of Indian parliament in 3rd week of September.
